1936
Modern Plating is founded and remains privately owned by the same family to this day. Our founder, Nicolaus Servatius, learned the trade of polishing metal from his uncle in Europe, emigrated to the U.S. from Germany and founded Modern Plating Enameling Works in Freeport, Illinois.

The company officially becomes the Modern Plating Corporation.

We install our first Barrel Plating line.

We install our first Zinc Alloy plating line.
2003
We install Full-Automation Alkaline Zinc Nickel line for the auto industry.

2006
We expand operations when we acquire our second facility, Modern Plating Coating and Finishes, LLC, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
2016
We introduce Zinc Nickel Plus®, an ultra-high corrosion resistant finish; 3,000 hours in neutral salt spray testing.
